Live from London – Day 12 (9th April) – Time to say ciao ciao

08:30 : ‘Dwar udghatan’ or opening ceremony at the Kenton derasar. Amidst uproarious chanting and a magical atmosphere , PP Bhaishree opened the doors of the derasar and led everyone in , almost as if he were welcoming us to leave behind the external world and enter a divine space within ourselves where the abode of eternal bliss lies. As we walked into the beautiful white marbled derasar and as our gaze beheld the tranquil idols of the peaceful conquerors, a stunning sense of inner joy engulfed our whole consciousness.
With hearts full of love for Bhagwan, and with glistening eyes we performed Puja of the idols and then sat for ‘Chairyavandan’. Through the verses we recited we sang the praises of the numerous qualities of the Tirthankars through the ‘Namothunnam sutra’ , bowed to all the 24 Tirthankars of this time cycle on Bharat Kshetra through he ‘Logassa sutra’ , applauded the highest and most auspicious of faiths – Jainism , and asked for nothing but the shelter of a Satguru , self-realisation and a spiritual passing-away through the ‘Jai Veeray sutra’ and paid our respects to each and every Derasar and each and every idol of the Tirthankars in this entire universe through and ‘Jan Kincham sutra’.
As we recited these verses , we also profusely thanked Bhagwan for giving us our beloved Guru, for without His benevolence we would never have been able to fathom the true nature of Bhagwan himself ! Praises be showered upon this eternal path preached by the Arhats which relies entirely upon the shelter of a True Guru.
Once again we pray that may this Kenton derasar shine bright as a ray of hope for innumerable souls.

Live from London – Day 11 (8th April) – Pratistha Mahotsav at Kenton derasar

08:00 : Jai Jinendra and Jai Bhagwan from London. As we wake up this fine morning, we are all excited as the much awaited day of the pratistha at the newly refurbished Kenton Derasar has finally dawned. PP Bhaishree and P Jinchandraji are here to bless the occasion , and both of them have repeatedly emphasised how auspicious and divine such pratisthas are and that how beneficial they shall be to the Jain society ar large.
As we participate in this ‘dravya pratistha’ of Bhagwan, our minds are drawn to the ‘bhaav pratistha’ that our beloved Guru has performed in our souls – with his selfless and infinite compassion He gave us the divine eyes with which we can behold the grandeur of Bhagwan within ourselves! And thereby he has performed the pratistha of Bhagwan in our souls.
“Agnanam timirandham, Gnan anjanam shalakaya,
Netra runmilitanam yenam, tasmay shri guruve namah”
(O dear Guru, you have dispelled our ignorance , and just as an Acharya Bhagwan pours life and imparts divine eyes to a pratimaji , you also have given us divine eyes (Anjan Shalaka) by which we can behold the vision of Bhagwan within ourselves. For having showered your infinite compassion upon us and having blessed us with these divine eyes, we bow down to you O Guru)
The pratistha will be telecast live on MATV from 8:45 AM UK time. We hope you can catch this live on Sky (channel 793) or on TVU player which can be downloaded from the internet (Channel 75203).

09:30 : PP Bhaishree performed the Pratistha of the ‘mulnayak’ or main idol of Bhagwan Mahavir this morning. Jaysukhbhai Mehta and family were the fortunate souls who had been awarded with this blessed opportunity. Amidst an extremely cheerful and joyous atmosphere the idol was established in it’s place inside the beautiful derasar.
We pray that may this idol become a gleaming beacon of the Jin Shasan and spread the grace of the Tirthankars all around. May all those souls who come to this derasar and pay their respects to it with a pure heart, be rewarded with the three jewels of Sat Dev (true lord or Tirthankar Bhagwan), Sat Guru (true guru) and Sat Dharma (the religion preached by the enlightened ones).
20120408-114044.jpg
10:30 : PP Bhaishree installed the Photoghraphs of our beloved Param Krupaludev, Shri Saubhagbhai and Prabhushree Laghuraj Swami in the main derasar. He said “Param Krupaludev is our utmost benefactor, for in this ‘Kalikal’ or malevolent time cycle, He gave us the essence of the path to liberation as laid down by Bhahwan Mahavir. Without Him we would never have understood this ‘Mokshmarg’ “. Mumukshus of Raj Saubhag UK have gathered at this derasar for several years and spent countless hours in spiritual contemplation , devotional singing and meditation. And now that PP Bhaishree has blessed this place today, we are sure that we will experience a new spiritual energy whenever we congregate inside these hallowed portals.

15:00 : PP Bhaishree’s Param Satsang at the Harrow leisure centre. Bhaishree was gleaming with joy from the superb pratistha mahotsav earlier in the day.
The audience which had gathered in the thousands listened in rapt attention as Bhaishree explained the various benefits of a pratimaji with poetic charm :
(1) O Bhagwan ! Your beautiful idol mesmerizes the devotee and once he has beheld it’s sight , you and only you reside in his eyes. All his other worldly desires vanish.
(2) O Bhagwan ! Your idol is like the cooling shower for the trifold fires (mental, physical and external pains) that the souls of this world are constantly burning from.
(3) Just as the ‘Garudi mantra (chant)’ can heal a person who has been bitten by a poisonous snake, so also O Bhagwan, your idol is capable of healing us from the poison of ‘mithyatva’ or delusion that has spread inside us.
(4) O Bhagwan ! Your idol is like the ‘Chintamani jewel’ which is a wish-fulfilling gemstone that can fulfill our deepest desire of attaining self-realisation. One look into your gentle inward gazing eyes engrossed in the ocean of tranquility (‘prasham ras nimagna’) and the devotee automatically experiences a stillness of his mind and a sense of peace overpowers his consciousness.
(5) O Bhagwan ! Your idol is a reminder of your infinite qualities , and by contemplating upon those qualities , your devotee shall surely attain those qualities and become like you.
(6) O Bhagwan ! Your idol is like an abode of the bliss of Moksh. Your idol is an unparalleled ‘sadhan’ or tool for a devotee to dive deep into his own soul and remain in that state of pure bliss.
(7) O Bhagwan ! Your idol makes your worshippers fearless for once they have attained it they are surely freed from the wretched cycle of birth and death.
Thus Bhaishree sung praises of the pratimaji of Bhagwan and explained to us it’s importance. Vikrambhai commented that Bhaishree has succinctly charted out the entire ‘Mokshmarg’ for us.
Finally Bhaishre heartily congratulated Vinodbhai Kapasi – the man behind the renovation and upliftment of the Kenton derasar and felicitated him, showering copious praises and blessings upon him.

17:00 : Young Jains presentation at the Harrow leisure centre. Our favourite spiritual dudes of London – The wise and well read Ashik and the young and dynamic Kavit took up the stage for a very effective presentation on behalf of Young Jains. Kavit is the current president of Young Jains UK and Ashik has always been a very active member. Through numerous practical examples and in a very interactive and engaging style they explained to us that there is no real happiness in this world. We keep trying to find happiness in people , objects and circumstances .. But little do we realise that there is sorrow in obtaining these , fear of loss while we have them, and then sorrow again when we lose them or they get damaged etc. They stressed that true happiness lies within ourselves , and that happiness which emerges from the soul can only be attained when we take the shelter of Satdev, Satguru and Satdharma.
The audience was enthralled at their thought provoking presentation and the Young Jains group was blessed by one all so they may spread the true message of the enlightened ones amongst the newer generations.

Live from London – Day 10 (7th April) – Second day of the Pratistha Mahotsav

11:00 : Second day of celebrating the Pratishtha Mahotsav. The Mahavir Foundation put up an amazing performance based on the ‘Chyavan Kalyanak’ and ‘Janma Kalyanak’ of Bhagwan Mahavir. As we enjoy the recreation of this most benevolent of events nearly 2600 years ago , our eyes keep stealing little glances at PP Bhaishree – for we just can’t get enough of His gentle inwards looking eyes, his compassionate & glowing countenance and his beatific smile ! How incredibly blessed are we to have out Satguru who has given us divine eyes to behold the true nature of Bhagwan Mahavir and to understand His path.
When Bhagwan was born , 64 Indras (Kings of the heavenly beings) took the baby boy up to Mt. Meru and performed the ceremonial ‘Abhishek’. With great devoution in their hearts they sang the following stuti exalting Bhagwans numerous and incomparable qualities :
20120407-120017.jpg
13:00 : ‘Diksha Varghodo’ or Ceremonial procession in the honor of two souls who are about to renounce the world and adopt monkhood. London shravaks took great joy and pride in rejoicing at the diksha procession, and the occasion was graced and blessed by Bhaishree and Jinchandraji. We bow down to these highest of humans , heartily congratulate these great souls and wish them the best on their spiritual journey . May the lords of the three worlds, the Tirthankars bless these divine children of theirs so that they may attain the three jewels of Jainism and dwell in the eternal bliss of the soul.
We yearn for that day when we can all adopt ‘charitra’ or renunciation , at first internally and then externally too. This internal charitra or internal renunciation has been explained to us by our compassionate Guru based on the words of great Jain spiritual masters as follows :
“Atamgnani shraman kahave” – Anandghanji MS
“Atmagnan tyan munipanu” – Param Krupaludev
“Jem aavi pratiti jeevani, janyo sarve thi bhinna asang,
Tevo sthir svabhav te upaje re, kahyu charitra te analing” – Param Krupaludev
We thank our Guru for granting us this unfathomable understanding of the essence of Jainism as preached by the kevalis ! And for these new munis, we wish the following –
“Shudh charitra paaljo,
Vastra ne shobhavjo
Kul ne ajvaljo,
Shasan ne deepavjo,
Ane am saune taarjo”
(O Munis, may you observe the conduct of a monk in the purest way,
May you always be worthy of your attire of a monk,
May you bring honor to your ancestry,
May you enlighten the entire Jain Shasan,
And may you be kind enough to bless us all so we may attain salvation)
20120407-180335.jpg
19:00 : Dinner with mumukshus. Despite His busy schedule PP Bhaishree has been kind enough to grace the residences of mumukshus for dinner every evening. The fortunate families have experienced great joy in spending a couple of hours with Bhaishree and the Bhramanisths. Last evening Bhaishree was at the Sanghvi’s and this evening at Narendrabhai and Ilaben’s.
One young Sanghvi recounted the experience as follows – “Large in numbers and devotion, the whole house was buzzing with bhakti for the whole day in anticipation. Young and old alike broke into song as Bhaishree finally arrived with his beaming eyes and energising smile. “Sad guru tumhare pyaar ne, jeena bata diya” (O True guru your love has taught us how to lead our lives). Swiftly filling up the entire main room they sat lovingly at his feet while he explained Param Krupaludev’s Letter 301 to them all. In just a few words he shared the rules by which we can live peacefully in our families and in the world. 1.See a soul similar to yours in every living organism in the world 2. Gracefully accept your destiny as it unfolds 3. Never find fault in others 4. Do not be proud of your own good qualities.”
20120407-210415.jpg
21:00 : PP Bhaishree was called upon the stage to deliver an ‘aashirvachan’ to the audience on the eve of the pratishtha. He said that there are numerous ways for a soul to attain self-realisation – Gnan (knowledge), Nishkam Karma Yog (selfless service) and Bhakti (devoution). Of these He said that Bhakti is the easiest for us to follow in this day and time. And then He added that the pratimaji or idol of Bhagwan is an extremely cogent tool for developing Bhakti. Such pratishthas therefore are invaluable in promoting bhakti for Bhagwan. He blessed the audience so that they may develop this love for Bhagwan and that it may someday intensify to such a level that it would lead to union with the pure blissful soul just as a river unites with the ocean.

Pratistha Mahotsav at Kenton derasar , London 5-9th April.

Live from London – Day 9 (6th April) – Kenton derasar Pratistha Mahotsav starts today

April 6, 2012
10:00 : Jai Jinendra and Good morning from London. Today we start with the celebrations of the three day ‘Pratistha Mahotsav’ for the newly refinished Kenton derasar. This morning PP Bhaishree is at the Harrow leisure centre attending a ‘Vees Sthanak Puja’ which is a special ceremonial obeisance to the twenty highest of venerations in Jainism. With unequalled love for Tirthankar Bhagwan and tremendous respect for the path to liberation as preached by them, it was a joy watching Bhaishree participate whole heatedly in the Puja, his gentle eyes gazing unwaveringly at Bhagwan.
Worshipping these 20 sthanaks is considered so auspicious that if done properly it is the giver of no less than the Tirthankar pad ! Indeed it was by the worship of all of these that Bhagwan Rushabhdev’s soul had attained the great fortune of becoming the first Tirthankar of this time cycle. Here these twenty sthanaks are described in brief -
The first is by worship of the Arhats and Arhat-statues, and by hymns of praise containing true events, avoiding blasphemy. The second is the celebration in words of the true state of emancipation with festivals of watching in the places where the siddhas attained perfection. The third sthanaka is kindness to yatis who are young, sick, students, etc., and affection for the scriptures. The fourth sthanaka is the showing of great devotion to gurus by gifts of food, medicine, clothes, etc., and by making salutation. The fifth is devotion to sthaviras, i.e., those who have been initiated for twenty years, those sixty years old, and the learned. The sixth is the showing of affection by gifts of food, clothes, etc., to those having more learning than oneself in regard to interpretation. The seventh is tenderness to ascetics making protracted penance by the gift of devotion and rest. The eighth is the acquisition of knowledge of both text and meaning of the twelve angas of the scriptures by daily questions, reciting, etc. The ninth is Right-belief, free from the faults of doubt, etc, adorned with the qualities of firmness, etc.,characterized by tranquility, etc.The tenth is Reverence (vinaya) so-called from the destruction of karma, fourfold with knowl edge, belief, good-conduct, and service to one’s superiors. The eleventh is earnest., determined avoidance of trans gression in the modes of conduct and daily duties. The twelfth sthanaka is the observance without sin of the chief gunas of non-injury, etc., and the’ subsidiary ones of carefulness, etc. The thirteenth sthanaka is the making of pure meditation every minute and every second, with avoidance of negligence. The fourteenth sthana is constant penance, according to ability, without injury to mind and body. The fifteenth is sharing of food, etc., with ascetics, according to ability, with purity of mind, speech, and body. The sixteenth sthana is the rendering of service (vaiyavach) by food, drink, etc., to the ten persons, acharya, etc. The seventeenth sthana is enabling the fourfold congregation to concentrate their minds in meditation by warding off all evils. The eighteenth sthana is the daily zealous learning of new texts, interpretations, and both. The nineteenth sthana is devotion to knowledge of the scriptures by faith, by their publication, by destroying censure, etc. The twentieth is the propagation of the doctrine by vidyas, prognostication, literary composition, discussion, discourses on Dharma.

12:30 : PP Bhaishree, PJinchandraji Maharaj Saheb and Kumarpalbhai Desai inaugurating a special publication called ‘Girivar Darshan virala paave’ created by the Mahavir Foundation for the occasion of this Pratistha. Bhaishree said :
“When we make a decision to perform pran pratistha of Jineshwar Bhagwan- even before it happens, so much change happens, the whole temple changes and becomes more auspicious. Such is the power of this activity! I hope that this pratishta deepens the devotion of many souls towards Jin bhagwan. This is the sentiment coming from my soul.”
20120406-151151.jpg
16:00 : PP Bhaishree has left for Oxford to meet his niece and bless her new-born. Always an exponent of balancing spirituality with our worldly life, Bhaishree’s compassion extends to one and all – mumukshus, family members, well wishers etc.
Meanwhile we’re at the Harrow leisure centre listening to a stunning lecture by Kumarpalbhai Desai on the life of Guru Gautam Swami. Infinite were his qualities and indeed the words of mortals fall short in singing even a fraction of their praises . What touches us most is the Bhakti that Gautam swami had for Bhagwan and the sweet love that Bhagwan showered upon him – the sweet love that shattered his ego and made his the first Gandhar and eventually led him to become just like Bhgwan himself and attain kevalgnan and Moksh.
20120406-162355.jpg
21:00 : Cultural performances at the Harrow leisure centre. Kids, teenagers, adults, boys and girls – everyone participated in expressing their love for Bhagwan Mahavir through song, dance , drama etc. Our favourite gopis of London – the ever smiling Nilpa and Naytika put up an amazing classical performance on the ‘Bhaktamar Stotra’. This unparalleled expression of devotion was composed by the great Manatunga Acharya nearly a thousand years ago. The Acharya had been imprisoned by the King Bhoj and had been chained and put behind 48 doors. On the fourth morning of his imprisonment the Acharya wrote this great composition with the utmost of devotion for the first Tirthankar. Legend has it that with each stanza he composed, his chains broke and one door at a time opened up ! Such is the power of bhakti for Tirthankar Bhagwan and Guru – that all the shackles of sansar can be broken and we can attain liberation.
“Bhaktamar pranata mauli mani prabhanam,
Udyotakam dalita paapa tamo vitanam,
Samyak pranamya Jina paad yugamyugada,
Valambanam bhavajale patatanam jananam.”

(When the Gods bow down at the feet of Bhagavan Rushabhdev, their crown jewels glow up due to the light from His nails. The mere touch of His feet is sufficient to absolve the sins of living beings. He who submits himself at these feet is saved from taking birth again and again. I offer my reverential salutations at the feet of Bhagavan Rushabhadev, the first Tirthankar, the propagator of religion at the beginning of this era.)
